In partnership with the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, Musique chez moi: Northwest Houston House Concerts (MCM) will open its third season with an operatic extravaganza, Old World Operatic Portraits - The Concert,  in the Main Gallery of the Museum. On Thursday, October 28 at 7pm, a cast of nine accomplished opera singers, supported by a small contingency of instrumentalists, will present an evening of well-loved arias and ensembles.

The Pearl is currently exhibiting a fine collection of British and French portraits in the exhibition, The Grand Tour. Largely members of old world aristocracy, they look as if they might easily belong on the operatic stage. MCM will give a voice to these long silent onlookers, allowing them to tell us their long-forgotten stories.

With Roger Keele as Artistic Director, MCM has presented several concerts at the Pearl as well as in homes in Northgate Forest and Olde Oaks. Seating is general admission, so arrive early for the best seats.

    Performers:
Dr. Cassandra Black, Dramatic soprano, Frances Fenton, Dramatic soprano, Dr. Roger Keele, Pianist, Dr. Jason Lester, Bass-baritone, Dr. Laurie Lester, Lyric soprano, Stephanie Lewis Northcutt, Lyrico-spinto soprano, Daniel Saenz, Cellist, Yuri Marie Saenz, Dramatic coloratura soprano, Heidi Scanio, Dramatic mezzo-soprano, Michael Vaughn, Baritone.

    Tickets: Adults $12, Seniors $10, Students $6.

Advance Tickets are available for purchase through the Cypress Creek FACE box office, 281-440-4850. The box office, open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, is located in the lobby of the Centrum in the Cypress Creek Christian Church located at 6823 Cypresswood Drive (across the street from the Pearl).
