18 Hands Gallery is proud to present for the second year Interwoven. Interwoven II  is a  juried fiber competition and show on view from October 2 – 31, 2010, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., at 18 Hands Gallery, 249-B West 19th Street in the Houston Heights.

“Interwoven II” represents the best work created by fiber artists in the states of Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The work reflects a diversity of materials, techniques and styles including quilts, dolls, jewelry and wearable fiber art. This is 18 Hands Gallery second fiber show in 2010 and emphasizes the commitment to showcase all art forms and fine crafts.

The Judge, Ginny Eckley, is a nationally recognized and published fiber artist. Ms. Eckley writes, “At one time, weaving brought to mind the simple idea of bringing threads together horizontally and vertically, the basic structure of cloth. Today, artists broaden this concept, blending together diverse materials in fresh ways. Using metals, industrial felt, beads and hand painted  materials, Interwoven II will surprise you.
