Houston Metropolitan Dance Company (Houston Met Dance) celebrates its 15th Anniversary Season showcasing audience favorites from their repertoire and premiering new works set on the company by boundary-breaking choreographers in local, regional and national performances.

Houston Met Dance presents Quirky Works VIII on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 8PM at the Cullen Theatre, Wortham Center showcasing its professional company and NobleMotion Dance of Huntsville, Texas. Renowned for its electrifying performances,

Houston Met Dance will perform three recent works: Semi-Detached by Houston Met Dance Resident Choreographer Kiki Lucas, swinging…in the dark by jhon r. stronks and Conscious by Jason McDole. The company will premiere a new work, Cinco-Sin Nombre, which been set on five female company members by internationally renowned dancer/choreographer Paola Georgudis.

NobleMotion Dance will perform three distinct works from their repertoire for Quirky Works VIII. Yield is an introspective love story for two dancers that ends on a surprising note. Five female dancers clad in little black dresses explore themes of sensuality, empathy and rivalry in Following Aunt Joan. Photo Box D illustrates the company’s seamless blend of technology and performance with an original light installation by Jeremy Choate. The dancers perform in and around five industrial fluorescent light that allow them to “disappear” and “reappear” from the shadows and into the light.
