Dance Source Houston and Discovery Green present the Dance Days at Discovery Green - The Anniversary Show. CORE Performance Company (their 30th season) and Ad Deum Dance (their 10th season) will each celebrate these significant career milestones with a free concert on Discovery Green's Anheuser-Busch Stage and Fondren Performance Space on Friday, October 15 beginning at 7:30 p.m.

In celebration of the company's 30th Anniversary Season, CORE Performance Company's lineup includes Room, created by CORE's artistic director Sue Schroeder; Corian Ellisor's duet In the beginning was the word and the word was love for dancers Alex Abarca and Mary Jane Pennington; and Cumulus, a quartet by Amsterdam guest choreographer Beppie Blankert.

Ad Deum Dance Company will present Christina Schanta's Permanence, an intimate reflection upon an individual's choices and unexpected consequences;Inlet Dance Theatre guest choreographer Bill Wade presents Wondrous Beast, a work inspired by insights into the mysteries of life in the animal kingdom; Rwandan Cry, by Steve Rooks (former Martha Graham principal dancer) commemorates the true story of a young Rwandan girl who literally "danced for her life" in the face of the slaughter of her family and massacre of her village. Rounding out the program is Randall Flinn's Unconfined, an exploration of the yearning for true life and purpose through the metaphorical lense of a communist, eastern block village.

Their 30 year committment to innovation, artistic risk-taking and collaboration, has led CORE (coredance.org---formerly Several Dancers Core) not only to create and perform, but also to promote dance awareness and education through presentations, workshops and classes in contemporary approaches to movement, as they remain dedicated to opening new channels of communication between artists and their communities. The professional touring company of CORE (CORE Performance Company), focuses on the evolution of the artistic process through the creation of new work developed through experimentation and improvisation, specifically in collaboration with artists from different mediums.

Ad Deum Dance Company, a professional contemporary/modern dance company founded and directed by Randall Flinn has been gathering talented dancers since January 2000, from all across the USA and others nations of the world to their home in houston. The company is comprised of dance artists that have developed a delightful blend of contemporary dance and physical theatre as a visual fusion of moving image and dramatic presentation. Their work is both relevant and redemptive - creating excellent dance with something important to offer to everyone.
