Blue Willow Bookshop presents Rick Riordan Wednesday, October 13 at 5pm.   Come find the Lost Hero when we welcome Rick Riordan back to Houston!

This event will be held at the Don Coleman Coliseum at 1050 Dairy Ashford, Houston, Texas, 77079, just north of the shop. The event details are very fluid and we will update this webpage as we learn more.

After saving Olympus from the evil Titan lord, Kronos, Percy and friends have rebuilt their beloved Camp Half-Blood, where the next generation of demigods must now prepare for a chilling prophecy of their own:

Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.

Now, in a brand-new series from blockbuster best-selling author Rick Riordan, fans return to the world of Camp Half-Blood. Here, a new group of heroes will inherit a quest. But to survive the journey, they’ll need the help of some familiar demigods.

Rick Riordan is the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series for children and the multi-award-winning Tres Navarre mystery series for adults.

For fifteen years, Rick taught English and history at public and private middle schools in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Texas. In 2002, Saint Mary’s Hall honored him with the school’s first Master Teacher Award.

His adult fiction has won the top three national awards in the mystery genre – the Edgar, the Anthony and the Shamus.

His first Percy Jackson book The Lightning Thief was a New York Times Notable Book for 2005. The Sea of Monsters was a Child Magazine Best Book for Children for 2006 and a national bestseller. The third title, The Titan’s Curse, made the series a #1 New York Times bestseller, and the fourth title, The Battle of the Labyrinth, had a first printing of one million copies. The series concluded with The Last Olympian, which was also a major national bestseller. Rick is also the author of The 39 Clues: The Maze of Bones, another #1 New York Times bestseller. His newest series about Egyptian mythology, The Kane Chronicles, begins May 4, 2010 with The Red Pyramid.

Rick Riordan now writes full-time. He lives in San Antonio with his wife and two sons.

Most frequently asked question: Rick’s last name is pronounced Ryer’-dan. (First syllable rhymes with fire).

NOTE:  Due to the expected crowd size and time constraints, and per the publisher's request, Mr Riordan will only be signing one copy of The Lost Hero per person. In order to get a card that allows you into the signing line, you must purchase a copy of The Lost Hero from Blue Willow Bookshop. With your purchase you will receive a signing line ticket that will allow for one book to be signed.

Signing line tickets are issued in order of purchase. We strongly recommend that you call or visit Blue Willow Bookshop in advance to purchase your books and receive your signing line ticket. Any books and tickets not picked up at Blue Willow Bookshop will be available at the event at our "will call" table.
