As promised!, Arte y Pureza Flamenco Performing Company from Sevilla, Spain will be back in Houston for Houston's first FLAMENCO FESTIVAL!

Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to experience an authentic Flamenco performance & to learn TECHNIQUE, CANTE, IMPROVISATION & CUADRO COMMUNICATION IN TIENTOS/TANGOS with Ethan Margolis, Cihtli Ocampo of Arte y Pureza & Juan Bacan of Lebrija!

Artists of Arte y Pureza, based in Sevilla, Spain, have studied & toured with internationally-renowned Flamenco touring companies & artists such as Los Farrucos, El Lebrijano, Manuela Carrasco, El Extremeno, Jose Merce, Arcangel, Montse Cortes, & Miguel "El Funi" of the Pinini.

TIENTO/TANGO WORKSHOP - OCTOBER 29 - OCTOBER 31 2010
HOUSTON, TEXAS

Tientos/Tangos
This exciting workshop will focus on Tientos/Tangos. Students will take with them a working choreography and a greater understanding of this wonderful palo which is fundamental in any dancer’s repertoire. In the first hour Ethan Margolis will teach understanding Tientos. He will present verses, palmas and the structure of baile for Tientos/Tangos.

In the second hour Juan Bacán will teach cante por Tientos and Tangos. In his class, students will learn two verses por Tientos and two verses por Tangos.

In the last hour Cihtli Ocampo will teach one letra, a llamada and an escobilla por Tientos followed by a llamada por Tangos.

Workshop Costs:
Pre-registration (on or before Friday, Oct. 15th):
Total 9 hours Workshop - $350.00
"At door" registration (after Friday, Oct. 15th):
Total 9 hours Workshop - $400.00
