KVPAC Books Alive! presents Too Many Frogs, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:00am, on the Kennedy Grand Stage in the Patterson Main Theatre at KVPAC.

Rabbit lives alone. He cooks and cleans for himself and at the end of the day, reads himself a story. It's a simple life, and he likes it. But one evening, Froggie shows up at his door. He wants to listen to Rabbit's story, too. While eating a snack - or three. While lounging on a pillow - or ten. And bringing over his family - dozens and dozens of frogs! Rabbit has finally had enough - Froggie will have to go!

But when he sits down alone to read himself a story, Rabbit realizes something is missing: someone to listen. Someone to share his wonderful story.

Books Alive! brings the magic of theatre and the gift of literacy to schools, hospitals and other organizations in the Greater Houston area and San Antonio. Books Alive! entertains and teaches thousands of children in Katy ISD, Houston ISD, Head Start Centers, Title I schools, the Fifth Ward, children’s hospitals, PTA’s, and many private schools.

For many children, it is their first time to experience the magic of live professional theatre and they respond enthusiastically. The play is followed by hands-on creative theatre, music and art workshops which meet several TEKS academic objectives.

KVPAC also recognizes the healing aspects of the arts. Hospitals such as Texas Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children are always included on the touring roster free-of-charge. KVPAC believes participation in arts programs and events are a powerful tool to uplift and edify people in varied circumstances.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, KVPAC annually serves more than 25,000 children, youth and adults through its outreach programs, ARTS for ALL! events, tuition-based classes, and adult community theatre.
