Talento Bilingue de Houston launches its Second Annual Latino Environmental Awareness Campaign with Donde Jugaron Los Ninos at 6:30pm on October 17, 2010. TBH presents its annual concert promoting Planeta Verde Now, a Latino green initiative committed to protecting our children’s right to live, work and play in healthy environments. After last year’s stellar concert featuring Pablo Montero with an audience of 10,000, we bring another musical celebrity to create community, rekindle our relationship to the natural world and make a difference for our children.

Headlining this event is Latin Grammy Award-nominated singer and actress Belinda Peregrín Schüll (pictured). She is best known for her dual role playing identical twins Mariana Cantú and Silvana Del Valle in popular Mexican children's telenovela, Cómplices Al Rescate. PLEASE NOTE: Due to a scheduling conflict, Latin Grammy Award nominated Belinda Peregrín Schüll will be unable to perform on October 17th, 2010 at our annual concert.

“Dónde jugarán los niños?” or “Where will the children play?” TBH Center presents its 2nd annual concert to raise awareness about our environmental future. We headline the evening with musical numbers and presentations by Puerto Rican salsa sensation, Cecille “La Diabla,” (pictured above), Colombian cumbias by “Dinamita del Karibe”, celebrity impressionist and comedic act, “The Aldo Show,” pop-singer José Saldaña, and Houston’s own Ballet Folklórico Alegría Mexicana, and Ballet Folklorico Xochipilli will demonstrate traditional Mexican dances.

Now in its second phase, Planeta Verde Now (PVN), TBH’s groundbreaking green initiative, continues to foster environmental values and sustainable practices through artistic expression and creativity. In 2009, TBH launched its Latino green initiative at Miller Outdoor Theatre before a crowd of 10,000 with Mexican celebrity Pablo Montero.

The evening is co-sponsored by METRO and is an opportunity for the public to become part of the efforts heralded by the PVN campaign. By taking METRO to the event as a part of “Double Dog Dare You” raffle, those attendees who enter their ride ticket as proof will be included in the drawing and could win a prize!

In other words . . . we “Double Dog Dare You” to reduce your footprint by taking alternative means of transportation to Miller Outdoor Theatre.

The Campaign encourages Houstonians to join TBH's Green Armada and find ways to promote better air quality. This night will rekindle our commitment to creating a sustainable future.

During the concert, TBH will share the initiative's mission and history, and distribute EcoLiteracy test kits for the recruitment of volunteers and Green Pride youth leading our communities in a year-long ecological effort.
