The Improv Comedy Showcase and Restaurant presents Ali Siddiq. (Live Recording - Comedy Special: Is It Just Me?)

Comedic actor Ali Siddiq has selected Houston’s Improv Comedy Club to record his live comedy special “Is It Just Me?” This is an encore performance of his hilarious stand-up comedy act which sold-out five shows at the Houston Improv in August 2010. Ali has added new material to accommodate network TV demands.

Ali Siddiq will record live at Houston’s Improv for one show on October 10, 2010 at 7:30pm. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign!

Ali’s abstract views on parenting, politics, relationships, and adult situations have earned him a PhD in Common Sense. He utilizes his whit, charm and unique sense of style to appeal to diverse everyday audiences.

He originally emerged as a weekly featured stand-up comic at Jus’ Joking Comedy Café in Houston. Since first gracing the stage 12 years ago, Ali has taken his life experiences and thought provoking stories on the road. Ali spreads his philosophy of “happiness is laughter, laughter is comedy and comedy is therapy” with each performance.

Ali has built an impressive resume in a short period of time. To date, Ali has toured and worked with some of the industry’s most notable talents including D.L. Hughley, Anjelah Johnson, Bobby Lee, Paul Mooney, Cedric the Entertainer, Katt Williams, J. Anthony Brown, Bruce Bruce and Mike Epps, among others. He has also been featured on BET’s Comic View (four consecutive seasons), The All-Star Comedy Jam (with Rickey Smiley, Arnez J and Earthquake), Bill Bellamy’s “Who’s Got Jokes?” and D.L. Hughley’s “Unapologetic Tour.” His most recent television appearances have been as a finalist on NBC Universal’s Stand Up for Diversity; he was featured on the 2008 season finale of HBO’s Def Comedy Jam; and BET’s One Mic Stand.

Ali is currently touring with Bill Bellamy’s “Lady’s Night Out” Tour. In addition to commanding attention on stages across the U.S., Ali has performed out of the country in several places including London, Amsterdam, Japan, and South Korea. He has hosted and performed at conferences including the National Black Accountants Conference, college campuses, and community events. Ali is a favorite on Tom Joyner’s Annual Boat Cruise!

Ali hopes to thrive in the industry and open doors for other comedians. He has taken a special interest in today’s youth. Ali will begin his teen motivation series in Houston area high schools in December of 2010. Look for Ali to continue climbing the ladder of success. He is determined not to stop until he is on top. In Ali’s words, “Comedy has provided me with an opportunity to reach out to others and spread joy. When I make people laugh and smile, I have served my purpose.”
