As a part of the Dance with Camera exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, CAMH presents a Film Screening: Hail the New Puritan, Thursday, October 7 at 6:30pm.

CAMH is screening for the first time in Houston "Hail the New Puritan," a simulated day-in-the-life "docufantasy" starring British dance celebrity Michael Clark. Atlas' fictive portrait of the charismatic choreographer serves as a vivid invocation of the studied decadence of 1980s post-punk London subculture, including the legendarily transgressive Leigh Bowery.

Music-driven and focusing on Clark's flamboyantly postured eroticism, "Hail" today stands as an evocative document of a time when a new generation emerged to reinvigorate dance, music, nightlife, and art.
