The 11th annual Texas for Women, hosted by Gov. Rick Perry and First Lady Anita Perry, will be held November 10, 2010 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.  Join 7,500 Texas women for one life-changing day to discover—and achieve—what you most want in your personal and professional life.

This year's theme Your Time Is Now,  promises ideas and inspiration to help you be fearlessly resilient, rebound with purpose and power, and lead with intention—no matter how big or small the goal. With motivational keynotes, engaging workshops and one-on-one professional development opportunities like Career Fair, Mentor Match and Resume Critique...the Texas Conference for Women is packed with opportunities to learn, share and connect.

Presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, Leigh Anne Tuohy, Judge Glenda Hatchett, and TLC’s Dr. Jennifer Arnold will be part of the 2010 keynote lineup.

“For the past 10 years, I've seen the Conference grow into more than we could have ever dreamed, and I'm thrilled that we'll hear from such accomplished and bold keynoters this year,” said Texas First Lady Anita Perry. “The inspirational stories, skill development sessions and networking opportunities are a chance for women to step away from the routine and recharge along with others.”

Doris Kearns Goodwin is a world-renowned historian and has been reporting on politics and baseball for more than three decades. Following her tenure teaching government at Harvard, she served as an assistant to Lyndon Johnson during his last year in office and later assisted with his memoirs. Goodwin has written for leading national publications and is the author of numerous books including Pulitzer Prize-Winning “No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The American Home Front During World War II.”

Leigh Anne Tuohy’s family was profiled in Michael Lewis’ New York Times bestseller, “The Blind Side,” which went on to become a Hollywood blockbuster starring Sandra Bullock. Tuohy is a motivational speaker who has inspired thousands with her family’s story of adopting her son Michael Oher, currently an Offensive Tackle for the Baltimore Ravens. She takes great pleasure in sharing her personal “Blind Side” observations with others, noting how Michael Oher changed her as a person and the Tuohys as a family.

Judge Glenda Hatchett presided over the syndicated show “Judge Hatchett” and is the author of the national bestseller “Say What You Mean, Mean What You Say.” Before her show, Hatchett was the highest-ranking African-American woman at Delta Airlines, serving as a senior attorney for the airlines and was named by Ebony magazine as one of the “100 Best and Brightest Women in Corporate America.” She then served as Georgia’s first African-American chief presiding judge of a state court and the department head of one of the largest juvenile court systems in the country.

Dr. Jennifer Arnold is the medical director of Texas Children’s Hospital’s new, state-of-the-art Pediatric Simulation Center and an assistant professor of pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. Arnold has been credited as revolutionizing the education of prenatal care. She earned the Ray E. Helfer Award for innovation in medical education from the Academic Pediatric Association. In addition to her work in the medical field, Arnold and her husband, Bill Klein, are the stars of TLC’s reality show, “Little People.”

This year, the Conference will also feature a career fair led by Tory Johnson, the CEO of Women For Hire and the workplace contributor on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Johnson will share her perspective on professional success and offer tips to guide women through job hunts and interviews. The career fair will feature resume critiquing and the “Mentor Match” program to help attendees strengthen skills and advance their careers. AAA Texas will serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the career fair.

In addition to addresses by distinguished keynotes, the Conference will feature dozens of expert-led seminars. This year’s theme, “Your Time is Now!” captures the Conference’s opportunities for community, connection, motivation and momentum to help women discover the tools they need to succeed.
