DiverseWorks and Aurora Picture Show partner to present a new exhibition in Flickerlounge, a season-long cinematic experience at DiverseWorks Art Space.

Self-taught animator Brent Green travels to Houston for the DiverseWorks main gallery exhibition Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then,  a site-specific installation and an accompanying feature-length film presented as part of the 2010 Cinema Arts Festival Houston. "Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then" combines Green's unique approach to storytelling with a true tale of love, determination, and faith to transport viewers into the strange and wonderful world of Leonard Wood.

In this installment of flickerlounge, we will showcase short films by San Francisco based artist and filmmaker Sam Green (Brent Green’s cousin). Showing that talent runs in the genes of the Green family, Sam Green is a filmmaker whose documentary The Weather Underground was nominated for an Academy Award in 2004. Flickerlounge will feature some of his short-form documentaries including: Lot 63 Grave C, Pie Fight ’69, Clear Glass and others.

During Cinema Arts Festival Houston 2010, Aurora Picture Show will collaborate with Houston Cinema Arts Society and DiverseWorks to present performances by both of the Green cousins, including screenings with live musical accompaniment. 

This installment of Flickerlounge is on view November 5-December 18, 2010.  Opening Reception: Friday, November 5, 2010, 6-9pm. Co-presentation with Aurora Picture Show.
