SPECIAL EVENTS

The "hottest" event in the Jewish Community is coming Sunday, October 24th 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the JCC. 

The Kosher Chili Cookoff is serving up a day of food and fun with the entire Jewish Community coming together with all proceeds going to JCC Meals on Wheels, JFS Alexander Institute and Houston Hillel. Congregations and Jewish Organizations from all over Houston are coming together to make this very special event possible, which is modeled after the hugely successful Dallas Kosher Chili Cookoff.

At 11:30am, the public is invited to sample chili, savor kosher “Fair Food”, mingle, enjoy children’s activities, listen to music, and simply have a great time in an outdoor, festival atmosphere. The event will conclude with the selection of the winning chili by celebrity judges. The winning teams will receive trophies with a donation made to the winning organization. Additional proceeds from the event will fund charities and other worthy programs in area synagogues.

This "smoking hot" event is sponsored and brought to you by the Congregation Emanu El Re-Energized Brotherhood in Partnership with the Brotherhood/Men's Groups from Beth Israel, Beth Yeshurun, Brith Shalom, and United Orthodox Synagogues with Supervision from HKA and MKT. There is no other purely fun/team-building/partnering event of this kind in Houston, and we have spent hundreds of hours to make this event happen, so please come out to support it!

Just $8/adults $5/kids (kids get a free hot dog) for all the chili you can taste and all the fun you can have! Come listen to music, nosh (all kosher), enjoy the kids play/bounce activities, and have a great time in this outdoor festival atmosphere!
