Founded in 1974, the fall edition of International Quilt Festival is the largest annual quilt show, sale, and quiltmaking academy in the world. Dubbed "The World's Fair of Quilts," by Southern Living Magazine, the show attracts more than 53,000 people from around the globe to Houston, Texas each year.

This year, the show, sale, and quiltmaking academy will feature more than 1,500 quilt, dolls, and textile artworks on display; over 350 classes, lectures, and special events; and shopping in more than 1,100 booths selling quilts, fabrics, books, patterns, notions, crafts, machines, and sewing supplies.

Within the event is Make It University!™, a special area of the show floor devoted to mixed-media, textile arts, paper, and fiber crafts. Developed in collaboration with Cloth Paper Scissors® magazine, Make It University!™ includes workshops, teaching showcases, special exhibits, vendors, and Open Studios, where artists demonstrate right on the show floor.
