Foundation for Modern Music presents Histoire du Soldat, Sunday, November 21 at 2:30pm in the University of Houston - Dudley Recital Hall.

This event is an investigation into how concert music can both participate in and subvert political and social structures. Opening with a lecture by FMM Conductor-in-Residence Jaemi Blair Loeb, this salon-style concert’s centerpiece will be a performance of Stravinsky's Histoire du Soldat, conducted by Ms. Loeb.

The especially relevant musical and historical features of Stravinsky's monumental chamber work offer entry into the complex issue of the relationship between music and the world it lives in.

    An artist reception will follow.
