    The Houston Museum of Natural Science presents The Path of Tea, A Silk Road Tea Tasting, Hands-On Class for Adults.

    Since antiquity, tea was one of the most important and profitable commodities traded along the Silk Road, from Asia to the west, and then to other parts of the world. Thia McKann, (pictured) certified tea master, has selected several teas associated with the Silk Road and the history of tea for this special tasting.

    Ms. McKann will share many interesting stories about the featured teas, explore tea customs of various tea-drinking cultures, explain some of the many varieties and their benefits, and demonstrate the best way to brew tea—all while you enjoy the exceptional flavors of the teas and tea treats.

    Participants will meet at The Path of Tea at 2340 W. Alabama St. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
