Betz Art Gallery presents Skyscraper City: A Visual Exploration of Houston Architecture, a Solo Exhibition by photographic artist Tom Haymes. Opening reception Saturday, December 4th, 2010 6-9 p.m. On view through December 11.

Skyscraper City: A Visual Exploration of Houston Architecture marks the culmination of an almost 30-year exploration of the geometry of Houston architecture. Form, color, and light are the key components of this endeavor. The challenge is to see the new in buildings that have been standing for decades.

Tom Haymes grew up in Houston and started his photography at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Since then, he has published numerous images in a wide range of publications including Popular Photography. He currently lives in Katy and is a member of the board of the Katy Area Artists.

Artist reception and talk is Saturday, December 4th 6-9pm the artist will give a presentation starting at 6:30.
