Buchanan Gallery presents Sheila McGraw - Recent Works.  During the month of December and continuing through January 15, 2011, Buchanan Gallery is pleased to present Sheila McGraw in her premier exhibition of large scale oils on canvas.

An internationally acclaimed artist, Sheila creates beautiful still life paintings, combining oil with other media such as gold leaf. She also creates wonderful portraits, and she welcomes commissions.

Sheila McGraw has been a prolific painter of portraits throughout her thirty-plus year career which has encompassed many facets of commercial and fine art. From 1970 to 1990 she was an in-demand illustrator creating packaging art, national advertising, fashion and editorial illustration.

In 1986 her career segued into illustrating and/or writing thirteen children's picture and craft books, including many bestsellers. Her extensive experience of conducting business with clients while producing quality artwork to deadline, uniquely qualifies her to deliver high quality paintings to deadline, for commissions, showings, and public installations.

Sheila McGraw is a member of The Portrait Society of America, The National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society, The Art League of Houston, and The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake.

Also in the Main Gallery, we will present an encore of selected mixed-media works from our most recent exhibition, featuring Margaret Smithers-Crump.

SPECIAL EVENT:  Sunday December 5th, noon to 5 o'clock, just in time for the holidays, Sheila McGraw will be signing hardcover copies of her bestselling children's books which she illustrated and/or wrote, including the children's classic Love You Forever (#1 on the New York Times Bestseller List, with more than 20 million in print).
