Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH) presents CAMH Slide Jam: Paul Kittelson and Gabriel Martinez, Thursday, December 9, 6:30pm.

Slide Jams provide windows into the ideas, images, and people in Houston's diverse and ever-changing arts community. This week's featured artists Paul Kittelson and Gabriel Martinez will show images of their work, discuss their inspirations and creative practices, and field questions from the audience. Held in the Cullen Education Resource Room on the lower level of the Museum.

Paul Kittelson is one of Houston's most prolific public artists. Using a variety of materials ranging from concrete and steel to discarded items like foam rubber and carpet, Kittelson creates large-scale works of a whimsical nature. Kittelson has shown his work regionally and nationally in numerous exhibitions and public projects. For the past ten years, he has been the head of the sculpture program at the University of Houston.

Gabriel Martinez is a current artist-in-residence in the Core Program, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. He received his MFA from Columbia University in 2009 and his BFA from the Corcoran College of Art and Design in 2001. He has been an artist-in-residence at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Fondazione Ratti, and the Whitney Independent Study Program. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions across the United States as well as in Italy and Cuba.
