FA DANZ-AKE presents it’s Second Annual Fundraiser December 12th at the Barnevelder Movement Arts Complex.

FA DANZ-AKE(For Dance Sake) a local non-profit dance organization dedicated to the education of youth in dance is celebrating its 5th anniversary with its Second Annual Fundraising Concert entitled Windows to the World. This concert will be held on Sunday December 12, at 5:00pm at the Barnevelder Movement Arts Complex. The proceeds for this event will go to scholarships for students attending dance workshops in Los Angeles in January. Funds will also to scholarships for students attending summer camp with Fa Danz-Ake both in Houston and in St. Louis, Missouri.

Wilma Smith, Founder and Artistic Director, has always wanted to assist students in need with a serious desire to dance achieve their goals. A veteran teacher for the Houston School District; Ms Smith has seen and touched the lives of thousands of children. With FA DANZ –AKE , she is further able to assist students segway into professional dance programs and companies.

This event will feature the dance performances of Trent Williams, former ACT-SO winner, Morehouse Scholarship Graduate, and former member of the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. Soul Street Dance Company, Second Generation Dance Company, Marlowe Fleming, former member of Joel Hall Dance Company, and Joffrey Ballet, as well as local schools and performers.
