Discovery Green presents the Magnificent Seven Ice Sculpting Competition, Saturday, January 8, 2011, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The 3rd Annual Ice Sculpting Competition features seven acclaimed ice artists from around the country using chainsaws and blow torches to transform ice into masterpieces. Thousands will watch the artists battle for the grand prize.  See the return of the country’s most acclaimed ice artists in the third annual Magnificent Seven All Out Ice Sculpting Competition hosted by DLG Ice Factory. Using chainsaws and blowtorches, artists transform ice into amazing masterpieces.

Reverend Butter of DLG Ice Factory tops off the evening with an ice sculpting set to live music.

Previous competitors have included master ice sculptors:

• Buddy Rasmussen of the Team Texas Chainsaw Massacre who was profiled on The Learning Channel’s (TLC) special, Chainsaw Ice Sculptors;
• Dan “Hollywood” Rebholz, one of five certified “Master Carvers” in the USA.
• Benjamin Rand ranked second in the USA and most serious about this art form. Julian Lee, a newcomer from Calgary, Canada, and great sculptor who must condition himself to adapt to the coastal weather; and
• The Reverend Butter ranked third in the USA. He will be hosting the event and competing this year. Butter was recently featured with Buddy on The Learning Channel’s (TLC) special, Chainsaw Ice Sculptors.

A panel of guest judges will be identified and posted soon.

The night will conclude with the announcement of the winner, music, and a live performance with The Reverend Butter and Downfall 2012 on the Anheuser-Busch stage.
