JPMorgan Chase  and the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance (GHPA) present the 2010 Chase Holiday Choir Concerts.  JPMorgan Chase choir concerts continue 64-year tradition with Free performances at noon, December 20 through 24, 2010.

Houston choirs will fill the landmark JPMorgan Chase Building, (pictured) 712 Main Street, with holiday music every lunch hour from Monday, December 20 to Friday, December 24. The programs will begin at 11:30 a.m. with pianists from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) playing traditional music under the giant Christmas tree in the Art Deco banking hall.

A different choir will take the stage each day at noon. This year’s schedule features St. Paul's Choral Scholars, Johnston Middle School, Houston Boychoir, Houston Children's Chorus, and HSPVA Madrigal Singers. The choir performances will last approximately 45 minutes.

Seating is on a first-come, first served basis; reservations are not required. For group seating or special needs seating, please call Elaine McAnelly at 713-216-4623.

This Houston tradition originated in 1946 when a group of employees surprised bank chairman Jesse Jones with a Christmas concert. In 1929, Jones opened what was then called the Gulf Building to house his National Bank of Commerce, the forerunner of Chase Bank.

The historic JPMorgan Chase Building has been the home of Greater Houston Preservation Alliance for most of the organization's 32-year history. When you visit the Chase Building, pick up one of GHPA's brochures from the racks at the security desk in the Main Street lobby or in Heritage Hall near the Travis Street entrance and learn about one of the Southwest's most important Art Deco buildings.
