VISUAL ARTS + MUSEUMS

The University of Houston - Clear Lake Art Gallery presents an exhibition January 15 through March 31, 2011.  Two Slovakian artists are featured in this unique exhibition that includes the work of Rudolf Sikora and Robert Makar.

Sikora, one of Slovakia’s most renowned artists, uses sculptures, paintings, prints and installations to express his ideas on freedom, life and morality. Makar, a Slovakian printmaker, blends text and images to explore the tradition of European intellectual legacy of the 20th century. His series of prints titled, “Text of an Image and Image of a Text” are created using glossy and matte surfaces to create tension between text and image inspired by his personal experiences and meditation.

The UH-Clear Lake Art Gallery is located in Atrium I, first floor of the Bayou Building and the Art Exhibition area is located just outside of the university library on the second floor of the Bayou Building. Admission is free for all exhibits.
