DANCE

The Jung Center of Houston presents Return to Rhythm: An Evening of Arabic Dance. Dancer and instructor Kristina Koutsoudas  (pictured) leads this evening of easy-to-learn fun and movement.

Surprise yourself and discover your innate rhythm in this Arabic dance class. Participants will learn a variety of Middle Eastern dance techniques, including drops and lifts, shimmies and twists to beautiful Arabic music, discovering confidence, freedom, and passion through movement. Ideal for beginners as well as experienced movers, this class will explore classical, contemporary, and folkloric movements and combinations.

Kristina Andriana Koutsoudas has been an independent choreographer, performer, and teacher of classical and folkloric cultural dance for more than 15 years. She has an MA in cross cultural studies and has received many awards from both Houston Arts Alliance and Texas Commission on the Arts. She has taught and performed, locally and nationally, at numerous colleges, universities, public and private schools, theaters, and festivals.
