The Jung Center of Houston presents Higher Ground: Leadership with Purpose and Integrity. In this lecture, civic leader Gene Vaughan offers compelling visions for the necessity—and the real possibility—of transcending our differences. Wednesday, April 13, 7:30 - 9 pm.

Are great leaders born or made? How can leadership bring unity in the midst of division? What are the roles of existing and emerging leaders in shaping our economic, social, and cultural development? This program will examine the capacity for leadership and the necessary personal attributes for leaders, through the perceptive eye of one of Houston's visionary leaders, Gene Vaughan.

It will draw upon the successful training program developed at Center for Houston's Future whose outstanding Leadership Forum has graduated 592 leaders in our community over the past decade.

Gene Vaughan's vision and commitment to Houston have been the driving force in the creation of Center for Houston's Future. He served as the founding chairman of the board and remains a permanent member of the board and executive committee. He is the Founding Chairman of Vaughan Nelson Investment Management, L.P., an investment management firm. He also was Founding Chairman and Governor of the CFA Institute, the international professional organization of more than 100,000 investment managers, security analysts and Chartered Financial Analysts charterholders globally.

He has served on the boards of the Greater Houston Partnership, Houston Grand Opera, Goodwill Industries, First Presbyterian Church, United Way, World Affairs Council of Houston and, most recently, as chairman of The University of Texas Health Science Center.
