Rebecca Stead will read from and talk about her work, followed by an audience Q&A, and a book sale and signing, where audience members can meet the author.

Rebecca Stead’s novel, When You Reach Me, became a New York Times Notable Book, a New York Times bestseller, and won the 2010 John Newbery Medal. The New York Times Book Review writes, "Every word, every sentence, has meaning and substance ... Rebecca's first novel for children, First Light, is a Junior Library Guild selection and a Bank Street College of Education Best Book of the Year (2008).

Rebecca grew up in New York City, where she worked as a public defender until about ten years ago. She lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with her husband and their sons.
