The Menil Collection presents Conversation - Art and Conservation: Artists Documentation Program (ADP) Brad Epley, Carol Mancusi-Ungaro, and Heather Nodler, Tuesday, January 25, 2011, 7:30 p.m.

In 1990 Carol Mancusi-Ungaro, then chief conservator, began ADP by video-recording interviews with artists about conservation-related issues resulting from the new materials and technologies of the twentieth century. Under the co-direction of Brad Epley (Menil chief conservator) and Mancusi-Ungaro (Whitney Museum of American Art; Center for the Technical Study of Modern Art, Harvard Art Museums), the ADP archive now comprises thirty-three interviews with artists such as Frank Stella, Jasper Johns, and Cy Twombly.

Epley and Mancusi-Ungaro will reflect on the ADP's twenty-year legacy and Heather Nodler, ADP archivist, will demonstrate current plans to preserve the archive and expand research access through its website.

ADP was established by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, which has provided additional support for the archive and website.
