    Buffalo Bayou Partnership presents a Waugh Bridge Bat Colony Pontoon Boat Tour.  Now offered every 2nd and 4th Friday from March-October.  Visit Houston's newly discovered Mexican Free-tailed Bat Colony! Guests on these tours will enjoy an amazing view of the bats' dusk emergence from our boat on the bayou's waters. Over 250,000 bats call Waugh Bridge home. You will spend the evening viewing and learning more...

    Buffalo Bayou Partnership presents a Waugh Bridge Bat Colony Pontoon Boat Tour.  Now offered every 2nd and 4th Friday from March-October.  Visit Houston's newly discovered Mexican Free-tailed Bat Colony! Guests on these tours will enjoy an amazing view of the bats' dusk emergence from our boat on the bayou's waters. Over 250,000 bats call Waugh Bridge home. You will spend the evening viewing and learning more about these magnificent flying mammals that share the city with us.

    PLUS:   Join us for bat chats in conjunction with the Year of the Bat 2011-2012, kicking off this month. , Friday, August 26th and Saturday, August 27th from 7-9pm meet the Houston Bat Team as they discuss the benefits of our bat population.

    Have you ever wondered how a bat sleeps? How much food a bat can eat in one hour? Or how a bat contributes to the health of our ecosystem? Well, "Bat Chat" officials can tell you. Houston Bat Team volunteers will be on hand to answer all of your 'batty' questions. And, we'll have kids bat crafts provided by the Children's Museum of Houston, Buffalo Bayou Partnership, and the Houston Zoo. Join us as we learn the importance of bats in Houston, and have fun at the same time. You will be stunned when you observe the awesome emergence of over 250,000 bats from Waugh Street Bridge. Make sure you come with your questions for our bat experts. So, come out and enjoy the "Bat Chat" with your friends and family.

    BAT CHATS:
    Free event!

    BAT TOURS:
    $35 per adult
    $25 per child (ages 4-12)
    no children under 4

    Maximum number of passengers: 21
    Minimum number of passengers: 10

    Children under the age of 13 must wear (provided) life jackets while onboard.

    Parking located at Spotts Park, off of Memorial Drive, west of Waugh Drive.


    Times:

    BAT CHATS Friday and Saturday at 7pm.

    BOAT Tour Friday  begin 45 minutes before dusk, time depends on day of the month - weather permitting. (See details above). All bat tours leave from Sabine Promenade Boat Launch (150 Sabine Street).
