The Country Playhouse (voted through Houston Community Newspapers as Best Community Theatre of 2010) present Love Letters, an encore production of its annual Valentine’s Day favorite on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings, February 12, 13 and 14, 2011.

Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner, both born to wealth and position, are childhood friends whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards. Romantically attached, they continue to exchange letters through the boarding school and college years—where Andy goes on to excel at Yale and law school, while Melissa flunks out of a series of “good schools” – through war, marriage to others, career ups and downs, children, art, politics and life in general with its tears and laughter.

Back by popular demand, Barbara Lasater and Stuart Purdy will reprise their roles of Melissa and Andrew for possibly the final time – but you never know!
