Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Company presents The Last 5 Years.

A contemporary song-cycle musical, The Last Five Years ingeniously chronicles the five year life of a marriage of up-and-coming writer Jamie (Stephen Myers) and aspiring actress Cathy (Sarah Welch) from their first date to break-up. Jason Robert Brown’s Off Broadway score tells Jamie’s story from beginning to end and Cathy’s in reverse, cleverly sharing both points of view as the timelines intersect.

Funny and uplifting, the show captures some of the most heartbreaking and universally-felt moments of modern romance.

Director Jimmy Philips brings this wonderful musical to the intimate stage at Midtown Arts Center, with Steven Jones as Musical Director leading the chamber-style orchestra.

The Last Five Years is presented as a special engagement co-produced with Mildred’s Umbrella. Opens January 28th 8PM. Thu-Sat 8PM thru February 26th. Sunday February 13th & 20th 5PM.
