Welcome to Lindyfest 2011, Houston Swing Dance Society's 15th annual Lindy Hop workshop.

Lindyfest is an intensive and fun lindy hop weekend workshop jammed packed with classes for all dance levels, soul sessions with living legends, hot performances and four endless nights of dancing. Lindyfest brings in hundreds of dancers from all across the globe to learn lindy hop from the masters and experience the excitement of Lindy Hop, all here in Houston.

The Great Southwest Lindyfest is a weekend workshop that brings extraordinary swing dance instructors into the area to teach Lindy Hop and related dances. This workshop is designed for Lindy Hop dancers at the Beginner-Intermediate level and above. If you are brand new to swing dancing or Lindy Hop, we recommend you take the 2-day Beginner's Track or weekly lessons provided by the Houston Swing Dance Society.

Lindyfest 2011 is excited to bring to you another year of entertainment with Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five featuring Hilary Alexander! They'll be playing for us at the Friday and Saturday evening dances and we can't wait to jam with them again!!!

BEGINNER'S CRASH COURSE
Do you know someone who's eager to learn lindy hop but just can't commit to going to weekly classes? We are offering a special Beginner's Track crash course for people looking to start their journey into Lindy Hop during the Lindyfest weekend.

We start from the very beginning and teach you how to put the triple in your step. You'll also be treated to special visits from legends of the dance. Registration is only $55 and includes 8 hours of instruction at the Sheraton Hotel March 12-13th, 2011.

The Class Schedule for Lindyfest is coming soon. Be on the look-out for it around early February 2011. In the mean time, the Weekend Schedule of Events is listed below. The Lindyfest workshop will be held at the Jewish Community Center (JCC). All the evening dances and afterhours Thursday through Sunday will take place at the Sheraton Brookhollow Hotel. **Note** The Beginner's Lesson will take place at the Sheraton Brookhollow Hotel.
