It's time for the Yachty Gras Boat Parade 2011, a Grand Night Boat Parade at the Kemah Boardwalk, 7pm Saturday, March 5, 2011. Enjoy Mardi Gras Kemah Style! The theme for this year’s event is Destiny of the Sea.

The boats will parade down Clear Creek Channel by the Kemah boardwalk and revelers will be showered with beads and doubloons. Boat owners are encouraged to form private "Krewes" and decorate their boats to a particular theme. Originality and good taste will be highly valued in judging.

The Yachty Gras Boat Parade is open to any well-found vessel that is insured and has appropriately silenced exhaust system.

Outriggers is the perfect place for judging the Yachty Gras Grand Parade and the"After Party" featuring live entertainment and drink specials. Seabrook's hidden gem away from the hustle of the big city has fresh seafood, cold beer and easy boat docking access. The locals congregate at the bar watching sports or boats go up and down the channel. The outside deck tables go fast on sunny days as folks linger for fresh breezes, lively conversation and boat watching. Plus:  Don't miss the Yachty Gras Kick Off Party, Friday March 4, 2011 7:00 PM.  Sundance Grill II at Waterford Harbor will host the traditional Kick-off Party at 7 PM on March 4. This event is $25.00 per person and open to the public. The party will consist of hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, music by Abel Salazar and both live and silent auctions. It will be a great evening of entertainment and dancing to benefit the Jeanette Williams Foundation for Childrens Cancer Research and Summer Camps. Jeanette Williams Foundation for Children’s Cancer Research’s goal is to raise fund for research to help in the treatment and cure of cancer in children and to host Summer Camps for children to assist in their development.
