Celt Iberia will present a lively informance (a Performance and Lecture) of the music of northern Spain, from the celtic provinces of Galicia and Asturias. Thursday, April 14, at 6:30pm, in the San Jacinto College South Fine Arts Building. As part of the 2011 Houston Spanish & Flamenco Festival.

The group performs the traditional musical forms, including the lively muneira (jig), the soulful alala, the pandeirada (tambourine songs), xotas, and fandangos galegos.

Celt Iberia was formed by flamenco maestros Valdemar Phoenix and Lucia Rodriguez-Sanchez as a way to expand their repertoire while promoting this great folkoric tradition in the USA.

They released their celtic CD "Celtic Connection - Music of the Spanish Celts" in November 2010.
