The Hideout at the Rodeo 2011: Brian Burke

Kick up your heels at The Hideout, located on the east side of Reliant Astrodome. Look for the big white tent packed with dancers and up-and-coming and local-favorite country artists. The Hideout is open for those 21 and older. It’s your chance to hear some of the best-in-Texas music for just the price of admission to Reliant Park!

    Monday, March 14:  Brian Burke.

Brian Burke's love for music was evident early on as his parents tell tales of him singing constantly from the time he was able to speak. At the age of 8, he picked up a guitar and began taking lessons, but was easily sidetracked by other boyhood activities such as football, baseball, fishing, and hunting. However, in high school, after seeing Cory Morrow perform a private party, Brian knew it was time to strap the guitar back on and pursue his dream.

He began learning cover songs and playing them for his friends. Shortly to follow, Brian developed a taste for songwriting and soon began crafting his own songs using what he had gained by listening to his early influences. An obvious passion, he began playing acoustic shows in high school in Houston, Texas. He began to catch the ear of Texas Music fans during his college years at Texas State University, and upon graduation Brian found himself encouraged by friends in the industry to record his 5-song EP, Brian Burke Band.

Now with a full year of the road under their belts, the Brian Burke Band seems to be picking up steam. With their EP, its single 'One Night', and a host of other great tunes written by Brian, the band has been rockin' the scene. They have had the privilege of performing in many of the state's premier Texas Country venues and opening for some of the best acts in the business. In early August 2010, honored the band as its "Breakout Artist" of the year.

Brian has assembled an extremely talented band based out of Fort Worth: Jake Williams on drums, Clark Kaupke on lead guitar, and Brian Kirkpatrick on bass and background vocals. Each member possesses a distinct musical style and an impressive resume to match! They are as genuinely nice as they are talented and take every opportunity to show appreciation to their fans!

August 2010 welcomed the release of the band's much anticipated, first full-length album, UNRAVELED, and their first single, 'After Midnight,' is currently being played on Texas Radio. The album showcases a variety of the band's musical styles, highlights their fresh Texas Country/Pop sound, and is delivered with exceptional vocal ability. The band's second single off the album, 'Dancin' Tune,' will be released to radio in early 2011.

Due to excellent songwriting and killer vocals, Brian has already begun creating a buzz in the Texas Music scene. With a full schedule, high energy live show and a debut album that's sure to dominate the chart, the Brian Burke Band will be certain to keep you coming back for more!
