THEATRE + COMEDY

As part of the French Cultures Festival, Et Voilà Théâtre presents Le Cimetière des Eléphants, a play in French with English surtitles, at 8pm Fridays and Saturdays, March 5 through March 19 at TBH Center.

Le Cimetière des Eléphants (The Elephants Graveyard) by French author Jean-Paul Daumas and performed in French with English surtitles, tells us the story of five old ladies. Confined to the interior of a seaside guesthouse, Ludivine, Chloé, Ada and Louise, spend their retirement dreaming of sunshine and rest, while trying to stop the inexorable march of time that imprisons them.

But, could their fear of the outside world be just the fear of death? Fernande, the newcomer, will rock these old ladies's cotton candy existence and up set their daily routine when she arrives at the guesthouse.

This dramatic comedy full of tears and laughter, pretense and reality, truths and lies is performed by: Nezha Abbadi, Hermine Bénard, Anne-Laure Reymond-Christensen, Pascale Lazare, Thierry Danard.

Directed by Laurence Sebeyran.
