The Bayou City Classic 10k is Houston's premier 10k race and walk! The Bayou City Classic 10K has been a Houston tradition for more than 30 years and attracts more than 3000 runners and walkers. Proceeds from the Bayou City Classic 10K go toward helping maintain and develop trails for running and walking in our city parks. The trails are available to anyone who lives in or visits Houston looking for a place to exercise or find a green haven away from the hustle and bustle of big city life.

Where: The race begins in Downtown Houston, with the Start Line on Louisiana Street near McKinney Street. The Finish Line is on Walker Street by City Hall.

Distance: The race distance is 10 kilometers (or 6.2 miles).

Course: Our race course is certified by Road Running Technical Council of USATF TX04001ETM. The course starts and finishes downtown with a loop on scenic Memorial Drive near Buffalo Bayou. Fast, flat and fantastic! For more information on our course, visit our Course Information Page.

Finisher Shirts: All finishers will receive a Finisher's T-shirt at the Post Race Party (no shirts will be given out prior to the race).

Post Race Party and Awards Ceremony: After the race, enjoy refreshments donated by our fabulous sponsors, and live music in front of City Hall around the reflection pool in Hermann Square. The awards ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. The party goes on and on!

Parking:  Please arrive early enough to find parking and make your way to the Start Line before 7:45 a.m. Street parking is not free on Saturdays and streets around the Start Line and Finish Line may be closed. You can find the locations of parking garages in format here.
