The Jewish Community Center in partnership with Society for the Performing Arts as the I W Marks Master Class Series presents a Modern Master Class taught by Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet Artistic Director Benoit-Swan Pouffer (pictured) Thursday, March 31 11:00-12:30 p.m. at the JCC.

As seen in the recent blockbuster, The Adjustment Bureau, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet is making a name for itself with a combination of stunning technique and imaginative staging. The class, focusing on modern technique, will be for intermediate– advanced students.

Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet was founded in 2003 by Nancy Laurie. The company is distinguished by its exceptionally talented corps dancers and the emphasis on acquiring and commissioning new works by the world’s most sought-after emerging choreographers. Under the artistic direction of Benoit-Swan Pouffer, the company has introduced American audiences to an impressive lineup of international creative visionaries who continue to stretch the infinite possibilities of movement.

The master class will be held Thursday, March 31 11:00-12:30 p.m. at the JCC, 5601 S. Braeswood. The cost for the master class is $3.50 in advance/ $5.00 at the door. This class is expected to fill up quickly. Please make an early reservation ensure your place.
