The Jewish Community Center set search for the future of local choreography by inviting high school age choreographers to submit work to be adjudicated by a panel of Houston Dance Professionals. Nine pieces were chosen to perform in the Gala Concert. Featured choreographers include Rebecca Bagley (Bellaire High School), Catalina Casar (Bellaire High School), Emily Cohen (Bellaire High School), Hutch Hagendorf (Briarwood), Kenny Ky (Bellaire High School), Laureen Llanto (Bellaire High School), Nancy Martinez (Bellaire High School), Caroline Meyerson (Bellaire High School), Marina Miller (Bellaire High School), Sazmin Momin (Klein Oaks High School), Rachel Renier (Lamar High School), and Leah Slavens (Houston Christian High School).

The concert includes a guest performance by Uptown Dance Company. Uptown Dance Company presents contemporary, diverse and innovative choreography created to expand the imagination of the dance audience. Incorporating multiple genres of performance expression into a single professional company, UDC strives to break boundaries and provide a unique place for dancers and choreographers to convey their passion for the art.
