The Japan-America Society of Houston presents the Houston Japan Festival, Saturday and Sunday, April 9th and 10th, 2011!

The Japan Festival is held in Hermann Park (near downtown Houston) and provides a wide variety of opportunities to absorb the rich and diverse culture of Japan.  For an entire weekend, the festival grounds are packed with excitement while continuous performances of Japanese music and the martial arts dominates nearby stages.

The annual Japan Festival also provides a wide assortment of interest from local vendors and restaurants while festival volunteers perform in the Japanese garden (adjacent to the festival itself). Thanks to the City of Houston and generous sponsors, we are going to hold the 18th Japan Festival this year. Past 17 consecutive years, the Japan Festival has been consistently growing and proudly supports over 20,000 attendees each year. In 2009, a local publisher Houston Press rated it as the "Best Festival in Houston"!

This event was started in 1993 in the hopes of developing a stronger relationship between the greater Houston community and Japan. The event provides a stage entertainment and an impressive array of food and beverages for everyone to enjoy.

You will be sure to feel an ambience of Japanese culture in the midst of Houston. Come on and join us!

The Japan-America Society of Houston (www.JASHouston.org) instituted the festival in 1993 in the hopes of developing a stronger relationship between the greater Houston community and Japan.  Each year, the event provides a rich blend of stage entertainment and an impressive array of food and beverages for everyone to enjoy. The festival is located adjacent to the Japanese Garden and nestled around the large reflection pond.

First time Japan Fest attendees are instantly amazed at the vibrant sounds of taiko drums, rich flavor of Japanese cuisine and beautiful visions of Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangements) and Bonsai. As an educational sources for everyone, festival-lovers also witness authentic tea ceremonies, martial art demonstrations and children's activities.
