Brazos Bookstore presents the It Gets Better Book Launch Celebration, Saturday, March 26, 4pm-6pm, featuring the book It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating a Life Worth Living.

Dan Savage and Terry Miller started their "It Gets Better" project on YouTube as a dramatic and powerful response to the spate of gay teen suicides prompted by gay bullying across the country. Now, they have published a book inspired by the project: It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating a Life Worth Living, a series of expanded essays from celebrities and everyday people.

Gay rabbis, elderly ministers, and minority youth join David Sedaris, Michael Cunningham, Hillary Clinton, and Michael Bloomberg. Brazos will celebrate the publication next Saturday, and we will be joined by the Rice Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, Planned Parenthood, Writers in the Schools, University of Houston Friends of Women's Studies, Brene Brown, Karen Walrond, and many others.

We will mark the occasion by taping videos, screening YouTube testimonials, and hosting a "Town Hall" event.
