    The Prague Shakespeare Festival, Guy Roberts, Artistic Director; Classical Theatre Company, John Johnston, Executive Artistic Director; and the Czech Center Museum Houston, Effie M. Rosene, Chair/CEO, announce a special Tasting and Teaser social event to benefit the PSF/CTC productions of William Shakespeare's King Lear and As You Like It and the Czech Center Museum Houston.

    This evening of wine and beer tasting, featuring a special sneak preview performance from As You Like It, will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 7:00-9:00pm at the Czech Center Museum, 4920 San Jacinto Street at Wichita, Houston, TX 77004.

    Wines of Sicily, available for tasting and purchase by the bottle or case, will be provided by La Bella Vita Imports of Houston. World-famous Czech beers Pilsner Urquell and Czechvar will also be available for tasting and purchase. Entertainment will be provided by noted Austin blues musician Ed Kliman, who has also created original compositions for both As You Like It and King Lear.

    Pavel Kriz stars in King Lear as the Fool and in As You Like It as JaquesThe cast of the production will be on hand, including Czech superstar Pavel Kriz, star of the new hit TV show Aféry playing Friday nights at 8:00pm on PrimaTV in the Czech Republic, the most recent winner of StarDance IV, the Czech version of the international hit Dancing with the Stars and the legendary favorite of the acclaimed series of Czech Poet films with director Dusan Klein.

    Pavel is joined by Houston personality Bob Boudreaux and other beloved local and European favorite actors including Rutherford Cravens, Jessica Boone, Lenka Fisherova, Tom Prior, Holly Haire, Laura Baranik, Phillip Hays, Jonathan Perrein, Jovan Jackson, Ilich Guardiola, Fanette Ronjat, Jarred Tettey, Jeff Smith, Blair Knowles, Bradley Winkler, Vanessa Gendron and Guy Roberts.

    As You Like It and King Lear will play in rep in Houston at Main Street Theatre Company's Chelsea Market Stage April 13-May 1, 2011, and then at Vyšehrad (Vyše Castle) in Prague, Czech Republic, May 18-29, 2011. The co-production, featuring a mixed cast of North American and European actors, is the first international collaboration of its kind in Houston in over a decade.

    Admission is $25, and tickets can be ordered online. Reservations for payment at the door maybe made via email by writing wine@pragueshakespeare.org  or by calling 281-635-3557. All proceeds will support the productions and the Czech Center Museum Houston.
