The Apollo Chamber Players present Gypsies and Toreadors: Folk Dances from Spain, Saturday, May 7 at 8pm, in Rice University - Duncan Recital Hall.

Join Apollo for an evening of gypsy dances, songs of the bullfigher, and Spanish folk melodies. The program will feature Sarasate's dynamic and virtuosic Jota Navarra and Ziguenerweisen show-pieces for violin and piano, as well as a quartet arrangement of his famed Introduction and Tarantella; Turina’s magical Bullfigher’s Prayer string quartet and lush Piano Quartet in A Minor; and an eclectic set of Spanish folk and dance melodies transcribed and arranged for strings.

We hope to share with you an evening of Spanish brilliance and vitality!
