The 2010/2011 Tommy Tune Awards will be held April 20, 2011 at 7:30pm at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

Developed by TUTS, the Tommy Tune Awards honor musical theatre excellence at the high school level. Presenters this year will include Houston-area native, Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) graduate and cast member in Broadway’s revival of La Cage Aux Folles, Logan Keslar. Also presenting will be last year’s Tommy Tune Award winner for Best Leading Actress, Stephanie Styles. To complete the evening, the ceremony’s namesake, Tommy Tune, will be a special guest presenter for one of the awards.

After reviewing and evaluating the 45 participating Houston-area high school productions during the 2010-2011 school year, a team of 35 Houston-based theatre professionals made 162 nominations in 15 categories. An additional committee considered 42 potential scholarship recipients.

Parking:

The Hobby Center parking garage is located directly behind the complex with easy access from both Rusk and Walker streets. This 7-level, above-ground, 800-car garage offers self-parking ease for patrons and visitors alike. Event parking is an affordable $6 per vehicle. Valet service is provided during performances and in conjunction with Artista operating hours in front of the Hobby Center on Bagby Street, for $15 per vehicle between Rusk and Walker.
