    Family Space Day at the George Observatory

    The Houston Museum of Natural Science presents Family Space Day at the George Observatory! Saturday, May 21, 2011.

    Blast into outer space on a simulated space flight to the Moon! During Family Space Night on May 21, the Challenger Learning Center at the George Observatory will be open for individual children and adults to sign up for missions. No danger is involved! Astronauts are assigned jobs aboard the Space...

    The Houston Museum of Natural Science presents Family Space Day at the George Observatory! Saturday, May 21, 2011.

    Blast into outer space on a simulated space flight to the Moon! During Family Space Night on May 21, the Challenger Learning Center at the George Observatory will be open for individual children and adults to sign up for missions. No danger is involved! Astronauts are assigned jobs aboard the Space Station Observer and work together as they solve problems and have fun. Volunteers who work at NASA will run the missions and visit with the participants. Don’t miss this special opportunity to participate in real astronaut training!

    Missions in the Challenger Learning Center are usually only open to groups with reservations. During Family Space Day, the Challenger Learning Center at the George Observatory is open for individual children and adults to sign up for missions. Don’t miss your chance to participate as an individual during this special event!

    This event is available for people 7 years of age and older. Kids 7-9 must have an adult chaperone participate.

    Mission Times:

    3 pm
    4 pm
    6 pm
    7 pm

    A minimum of 10 participants is required for each mission. Refunds will be issued if the minimum is not met. Stay after your mission for Stargazing!

    Tickets:

    Cost: $10 per person
    Tickets for the George Observatory telescopes go on sale for $5 at 5 pm for regular public viewing (weather permitting; no advance sales.)

    Ages: 7 years old and up to adult.
    (If you are age 7-9, you must have an adult participate with you.)

    3 p.m.; 4 p.m.; 6 p.m.; 7 p.m.
