Virtuosi of Houston, the city’s young artist’s chamber orchestra composed of young, gifted musicians, presents their Chamber Music & Concerto Concert featuring Competition Winners, Monday, April 11 - 7:30 PM, in Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

The musicians, aged 11 to 18, are from the Greater Houston area and are selected from annual auditions. The limited size of the orchestra -55 musicians- requires the young artists to perform at an exemplary level. The founding artistic directors and conductors are Franz Krager & Andrez Grabiec, who are also faculty members of the Moores School of Music, University of Houston.

This being Virtuoisi's Concerto Concert, the performance will feature the winners of the Concerto Competition as soloists. The repertoire is Beethoven's Symphony #1 in its entirety; Cimarosa's concerto for Flute and Oboe; Schumann's Overture, Scherzo and Finale; and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Major.
