    Project Row Houses presents HEARTH HOUSE: Apron Strings Conversations, featuring Toni Tipton-Martin, Luanne Stovall with Crystal Granger, Saturday, April 23, 3-5 pm and Saturday, May 21, 3-5 pm, at 2515 Holman. In conjunction with Round 34: Matter of FOOD, Hearth House (Art House #2515 Holman) will host two roundtable Conversations.

    The first, Secret Ingredients teases out the secrets in favorite recipes that warm hearts, bridge generations, and fan flames of treasured memories. Participants include the women of Lilly Grow Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, who are participating in an oral history culinary project with Foodways Texas and the University of Houston, and a photo documentary project with Austin-based photographer Tahila Mintz.

    The second, Apron Strings explores the uncanny relationship between cooking at the hearth and sewing the material requirements necessary for survival and uplift of the soul. Insights will be shared by quilters from The Jubilee Quilt Circle and members of the Third Ward community.

    Pie will be served for guests, courtesy of local bakers.
