Virtuosi of Houston, a non-profit premier youth chamber orchestra for gifted Houston musicians aged 11 to 18, will host its 2010-2011 season gala and concert in the Legends Ballroom at the Hotel InterContinental on Saturday, May 7 at 6 p.m.  The concert and dinner event, entitled Virtuosi Encore 15: Honoring Houston’s Music Philanthropists, An Evening of Memories and Music, will celebrate the group’s 15th season of excellence in chamber music education and performance.

The event also will honor 12 Houstonians who have contributed to the tremendous success and continued growth of classical music in Houston.  Linda and John Barrett and Zarine and Meherwan Boyce are serving as co-chairs of the event this year, along with honorary chair and gala honoree Monzer Hourani.

Additional honorees for this year’s gala include Donna and Robert Bruni; Barbara and Ulyesse LeGrange; Nidhika and Pershant Mehta; Mary Kay and Michael Poulos; Margaret Alkek Williams; and Phyllis and Cornel Williams.
