Jung Center of Houston presents Alchemy: Motifs in Waking Life and Dreams.

How can we use alchemical ideas to deepen our understanding of our dreams and our experiences in waking life? The language of alchemy offers a rich set of symbolic and metaphoric tools for tackling this task. Medieval alchemists described their processes (such as heating, dissolving, solidifying, separating and uniting) in ways that reveal the unconscious psychological significance of their efforts.

In this workshop, we will explore and use the wisdom of alchemy as a means of widening the lens through which we can view our experiences and understand what our dreams may reveal. Workshop format will include lecture, group discussion, and in-class exercises.

Instructor Anne Strain, LCSW, is a psychotherapist in private practice and a candidate-in-training to become a Jungian analyst in the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts.
