Hooks-Epstein Galleries presents PrintMatters, a group exhibition of original, hand-pulled prints by the artists of PrintMatters, a professional organization devoted to promoting traditional and contemporary printmaking. The opening reception is Saturday, June 4, 6-8 P.M. The artists will be on hand to discuss their work and to explain why and how they use printmaking as their medium. This exhibition will be a unique opportunity to see a variety of printmaking processes housed under one roof, including serigraphy, relief, stone lithography, etching, intaglio, and monotype.

On Saturday, June 25th, at 2:00 P.M., the gallery will host a panel discussion PRINTMAKING, moderated by Hiram Butler, owner of Hiram Butler Gallery. The panel will include artists and educators Suzanne Manns and Karin Broker, master printers Ron Adams from Santa Fe, and Houstonians Penny Cerling and Darin Forehand, and three Houston print collectors. Reservations are required. Phone 713.522.0718.

Hook-Epstein is proud to be a part of PRINTHOUSTON 2011, a celebration of original prints, the artists who create them, and the people who collect them. PRINTHOUSTON 2011 features an innovative series of print-inspired exhibitions at art galleries, art spaces, and museums throughout the city. A diverse selection of local, international, established, and emerging artists whose works fuse traditional styles of printmaking with contemporary ideas and aesthetics will be on display.

The exhibition will continue though July 2, 2011.
