Dance Houston presents the 1st Annual Dance Houston Benefit Celebration. The benefit celebration will be held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2011 at the House of Deréon in Downtown Houston. The address for the House of Deréon is 2204 Crawford St. Houston, TX 77002.

The event will include a night of great food, dancing, a silent auction and more! The benefit is designed to raise money and bring awareness about the organization and the plethora of dance outlets in Houston. This year’s theme, All That Jazz, drawn from the Broadway show of the same name, highlights the genre of jazz dance throughout dance history. The attire for the event is cocktail/jazz themed and your contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Donating to the All That Jazz event will greatly help underprivileged children participate in an art form that not only is fun, but helps build self-esteem, confidence and promotes healthy lifestyles! Donations will include giving dance scholarships to economically disadvantaged children and help fund dance education programs to combat issues such as bullying, racism, and drug use in public schools and residential treatment centers. They will also help build up neighborhood dance programs and the continuation of promoting local talent via high-profile performance opportunities.
